Artist spotlight: ARTBAT started with two experienced Kyiv DJs deciding that the studio was worth sharing. Artur and Batish combined their backgrounds in the city's club circuit into a production project built around melodic tension and big-room weight. Early releases including Mandrake helped bring their work into international sets, followed by music on labels such as Diynamic. Their rise illustrates a common truth about electronic music: DJs often hear a producer's reputation before they know the producer's face. ARTBAT used records that traveled from booth to booth to build an audience far beyond Ukraine.

Miss Monique built a worldwide following from something many DJs once treated as a side project: carefully produced online sets. Raised in Kyiv, the Ukrainian artist had spent years developing her sound and filmed mixes before those broadcasts attracted a much larger audience. Her Siona Records label became an outlet for progressive and melodic dance music, while tracks such as Veselka carried personal meaning. She has spoken about completing that record in Kyiv before leaving Ukraine because of the war. Now based in Lisbon, she remains connected to her country through the music and the audiences that follow it.
