CHAPTER 01
Making a groove feel like a memory
Some dance tracks announce what they are doing immediately. Others build a feeling that becomes clear only when the room is already moving. Enamour works in that second space, combining club-ready percussion with the wistful, unfolding textures associated with progressive and deep house.
The American DJ and producer developed a reputation for sets that cross progressive house, tech house and techno without abandoning musicality. What makes that combination harder than it sounds is pacing: a track must carry an idea while still doing the practical work of keeping the floor in motion.
CHAPTER 02
The record labels tell a story
Enamour’s releases have appeared on Anjunadeep, Yoshitoshi, whatiplay and Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint. Those labels occupy overlapping but distinct corners of the electronic landscape. Working across them suggests a producer comfortable in the territory between a deep listening session and a busy club.
His Anjunadeep catalog includes Ruby and the Say Hello EP with Meliha. The label continues to list releases including the Revelator EP and Brush The Dust Off Your Soul EP. These records give listeners a better route into his sound than a single genre tag ever could.
CHAPTER 03
Remixes that took a life of their own
Remixing became an important part of his early reputation. Artist biographies highlight sustained attention for his versions of Donatello’s Tears and RUE’s The Cult on Beatport’s deep-house charts. The appeal of a strong remix is not merely that it inherits a familiar vocal or melody; the producer has to make the material work in a new room.
Enamour also appeared on the radar of dance-music media in the late 2010s, including a DJ Mag artist-to-watch mention in 2018 and inclusion in Mixmag’s Magnified program in 2019. Those are markers of growing interest, not substitutes for the releases themselves.
CHAPTER 04
Why working DJs keep looking for the middle ground
The catalogs associated with Enamour are particularly relevant to selectors who need more than peak-time bangers. His approach suggests an arrangement can be spacious without being weak, melodic without becoming predictable, and functional without losing personality.
There is no single dramatic turning point required to understand the career. The accumulated work—records, remixes, sets and collaborations—makes the point. Developing DJs can study the transitions between moods as closely as the individual tracks: that is where a carefully chosen record becomes part of a whole night.
