CHAPTER 01
The DJ as a performer, not just a selector
Eddie Halliwell belongs to a generation of electronic DJs for whom a set could be judged as a physical performance: playing with a mixer and effects, putting energy into transitions, and responding to a room rather than merely matching two records. His rise was associated with the UK’s trance and harder dance-music club culture. Mixmag and other dance publications frequently emphasized his speed and live technique.
Halliwell’s recording history includes the celebrated Bosh! mixes of the early 2000s, and his official radio biography documents a spell broadcasting on BBC Radio 1 during 2005–08. That was not the end of his radio story; the continuing Fire It Up series established a recurring place for the sounds he wanted to share.
CHAPTER 02
Hundreds of Fire It Up episodes later
The strongest evidence that Halliwell is still active in 2026 is simple: the artist’s own Mixcloud account publishes consecutively numbered Fire It Up mixes. The page currently includes episodes in the high 800s and 900s, with each show typically running about 56 minutes and moving through house, techno, trance and related electronic music.
On a recent episode page, Mixcloud credits performers including Dave Clarke, Alan Fitzpatrick and Simina Grigoriu in the tracklist. These are tracks selected within Halliwell’s recorded show, not proof that the same artists share a live bill. That distinction matters for an interconnected event database: a tracklist is not a concert announcement.
CHAPTER 03
Why the Dublin date matters
Index Dublin’s primary calendar announces Eddie Halliwell alongside Mauro Picotto for Friday, November 6, 2026. The advertised night runs from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. The Academy, the venue hosting this branded Index event, independently lists the booking. That second source is particularly useful because it confirms the physical room rather than implying Index itself is a separate building.
Mauro Picotto is an Italian DJ and producer with a history in techno and trance. His existing profile on The DJ Hangout should remain the authoritative artist record: there is no reason to create another just because a newly researched DJ appears alongside him. The two names belong on one show whose date, venue and billing are corroborated.
CHAPTER 04
Sold out is still useful information
The Academy’s ticket calendar currently marks the November 6 Halliwell and Picotto appearance sold out. It also specifies a minimum age of 18 and photo identification requirements. Those details belong on the Show page and in the venue guide, even though the site cannot legitimately offer primary admission when the seller says none remains.
This is the intended DJ Hangout connection: discover the artist from a real recording-platform identity, read an original biography, find the specific announced performance, and understand where it actually takes place. The site retains the event for reference without inventing a resale link, unannounced support DJs, or a headliner set time.
