THE DJ HANGOUT / DATA & RESEARCH

How this directory is built.

The DJ Hangout publishes two kinds of artist and venue record: curated profiles written and reviewed by our editors, and research-lead entries that state only what a documented source proves. This page explains where the data comes from, what we include, what we exclude, and what is still missing.

How records are trusted

Licensing and reuse

Venue data is derived from OpenStreetMap and remains subject to the Open Database Licence: attribution is required and any redistributed derived database must stay ODbL. Artist data from MusicBrainz is CC0 and carries no such condition. Full details are on our venue directory and artist directory.

Corrections

If a record is wrong, out of date, or should not be public, tell us and we will correct or remove it. Corrections take priority over coverage: a directory that is confidently wrong is worse than one that is visibly incomplete.
