THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

Wata Igarashi

Wata Igarashi can make a techno record feel as if the walls have started moving. The Japanese producer and DJ is known for crystalline, psychedelic structures that gradually change shape inside a set. His releases include music on underground imprints such as The Bunker New York and Semantica, while club appearances have connected Tokyo's scene with Berlin, Amsterdam and beyond. His 2023 album Agartha explored a wider world of electronic textures. The important detail for DJs is his patience: the intensity comes from small shifts, careful timing and a clear sense of where the journey is going.
