THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

Verraco

Medellín producer JP López, performing as Verraco, has made a career of asking what happens when Colombian club rhythms are treated as a starting point for electronic experimentation. His DJ sets and productions weave techno, Latin-influenced percussion, bass and intricate sound design into one restless language. He co-runs TraTraTrax, a label that has helped push regional club ideas onto international platforms. The Escándaloo EP on VOAM and Breathe... Godspeed on Timedance brought wider attention, followed by work with XL Recordings. Even as the festival schedule grows, the local label-building story remains crucial: artists can export new ideas without waiting for another city to validate them.
