CHAPTER 01
The artist and musical direction
Tropo is a California producer and violinist whose official Gravitas profile emphasizes the relationship between live strings and electronic dance rhythms. The stage name refers to a point of change, a fitting idea for music in which a melodic instrumental phrase can become an electronically processed texture.
CHAPTER 02
Key releases and connections
Collaborations listed by the label include Ayla Nereo, The Polish Ambassador, Alan Parsons and Wildlight. The Gravitas release Siente Tu Corazon contains music such as Open Wings, Tribes and Pantano Mistico with Jesse Hendricks. These are useful recorded references to compare the violin-led material with more production-focused arrangements.
CHAPTER 03
Listening and live context
For listeners, Tropo illustrates how instrumental music can be integrated into contemporary dance performance without becoming a separate interlude. DJs can use these tracks to change the feeling of a set and connect listeners to other collaborators, while accurate event pages need to state whether a particular appearance involves live instrumentation.
