THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

Toman

Before Toman started building house records, the Dutch producer was already studying rhythm from behind a drum kit. He began playing drums in his early teens, then brought that percussive attention into electronic music. After moving to Amsterdam in 2018, he developed a prolific catalog on labels including PIV, No Art and Inermu, and became part of a new generation of Dutch groove-led house artists. The music makes more sense once you know the background: the low end is designed to move, but the detail often sits in the smaller rhythmic decisions around it. Producers listening closely can hear the drummer behind the software.
