CHAPTER 01

A sound inspired by other worlds

Toadface is the electronic music project of Ohio-born producer Todd Holler. His sound is often described as swampy because of the movement of its bass lines and the unusual spaces built around them. The name, visuals and musical choices suggest a playful world, but the production is deliberate: trap-influenced percussion and dubstep architecture are arranged to create a signature sound.

Before he developed the project, Holler was a keen gamer. His management biography connects that experience to his interest in strange imaginary environments, which he later brought into electronic music. His older brother, producer Yheti, encouraged his early experimentation with music-making. The family link is factual background, not a reason to treat Toadface as an extension of another artist.

CHAPTER 02

Early touring and the records that followed

Insomniac reports that Toadface started making dubstep in 2011. After performing on the touring circuit with Yheti, he built a wider audience through independent releases and live appearances. His Bugs for Breakfast album arrived in 2018 through the Wakaan label and accompanied an early headline tour. That period connected the recorded music to the particular atmosphere of his stage shows.

His 2020 recording Gangrene and later EPs extended the catalogue. The work does not stay confined to one dance-floor speed, moving between psychedelic low-end, detailed rhythmic phrases and the kind of unsettling ambience that suits his visual identity. Long-form mixes also play an important role because they show how the artist constructs a complete journey rather than a run of isolated peaks.

CHAPTER 03

The 2026 chapter, without rewriting the past

Apple Music lists Mycelium Network as a 2026 album and SLEIGHT OF SOUND as a 2026 EP, giving current listeners more recent entry points alongside Bugs for Breakfast. Following those recordings across several years shows what stayed consistent: imaginative low-end textures, unusual percussion and a sense of humor about music that can otherwise take itself too seriously.

For DJs, Toadface offers an example of creating recognizable sound design without losing the pleasure of live performance. A producer can borrow inspiration from games, films or other media and still develop their own musical grammar. The DJ Hangout will attach specific upcoming shows only when venues and their authorized ticket information have been independently verified.
