THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

SubDocta

SubDocta is the stage name of producer Preston Charles, who developed a particularly recognizable wobble-focused bass style. His 2017 single 2009 Was Tight became an early calling card, helping establish a sound that the artist describes as West Coast Wobble. The recorded history includes EPs released through SubCarbon, Wakaan and 19K Records as well as singles on Bassrush and Fresh Blood. Those labels reach several different audiences in U.S. bass music, making the catalog useful for listeners who want to follow collaborations between established and emerging producers.
