THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

SOOHAN

SOOHAN is the musical alias of Stephen Suchan, who developed an interest in DJing while studying at the University of Maryland. His artist biography describes early mashups, college performances and involvement in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. venues as important steps in building the project. The music and DJ sets draw from Baltimore club, dancehall, drum and bass, dubstep and international rhythm traditions. His recorded and curated Gravitas work includes the Future Self project and collaboration with David Starfire on a Circulate compilation, connecting the alias to the wider global-bass community.
