THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

PAURRO

Mexico City's scene needs DJs, but it also needs people willing to organize the nights, book talent and keep the musical conversation going. PAURRO—producer Paulina Rodriguez—has done all three. After building her skills in local venues, she became involved in booking, programming and radio at Aire Libre in 2018. Her relationship with Matias Aguayo and the Cómeme label developed into releases including Galavisión. She also built a residency identity around House of Paurro at Yu Yu. It's a career that makes the industry's backstage work visible: the DJ isn't only the person performing. Sometimes they're the reason the event exists.
