THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

Jessica Audiffred

For a long time, the heaviest festival-bass lineups were described as international before they had many Mexican DJs on them. Jessica Audiffred helped change that picture. Born and raised in Mexico City, she built a reputation for hard-hitting dubstep and bass-house sets while making the local scene part of her business plan. In 2016 she founded A Records, a platform designed to bring more attention to emerging Mexican and Latin American electronic artists. International stages followed, with appearances at EDC, Ultra, Tomorrowland and Lost Lands among the festival names listed in her official biography. The story isn't simply about another bass DJ reaching a giant crowd. It's about the label and regional opportunities that can grow behind a headlining name. One success can become a bigger runway for an entire scene.
