Tokyo's underground club story is built by selectors as well as producers. Haruka has become one of the DJs associated with that city's adventurous techno circuit, developing a reputation for precise musical choices rather than one fixed sound. His work has reached international clubs and festivals, but Tokyo remains the reference point. Haruka has also launched Protection, a label exploring the space between dance-floor music and more experimental listening. That dual focus is part of what makes the city's electronic scene so interesting: the best ideas don't necessarily stay inside the boundaries of a conventional club set.
