CHAPTER 01
The voice is part of the instrument rack
Many electronic producers work with featured vocalists; Grabbitz made his own performance central to the project. Nick Chiari sings, plays guitar and keyboards, and uses DJ equipment in a show that moves between bass pressure and fully formed songs. That combination gives the set a live-band energy without abandoning its electronic foundations.
The format is interesting because it changes the relationship between recording and stage. A studio release can be reconstructed with a live vocal or instrumental part rather than simply presented as a finished file. For the audience, familiar songs are still recognizable, but the delivery makes the night feel less predictable.
CHAPTER 02
An unlikely path through the electronic world
A 2016 collaboration with deadmau5 on Let Go gave Grabbitz major early visibility. The later REZZ collaboration Someone Else reached alternative-radio audiences, while Die For You was created for a Valorant World Championship production. These are very different stages for the same artist and reflect his willingness to bridge electronic culture with wider performance settings.
His 2022 album Time Isn’t Real developed that approach through songs with heavier electronic construction and rock-influenced writing. Red Light Management and Mint Talent Group both emphasize collaborations with producers including Illenium, Zedd and Subtronics. The common thread is not genre switching for its own sake, but applying the same songwriting and performance identity to different sonic settings.
CHAPTER 03
An independent platform for the next chapter
The artist founded Blue Butterfly Records, releasing the In The Dark EP in 2024. Having an imprint gives a producer another way to shape presentation and release schedules. It can also make room for work that sits outside the restrictions of a traditional single-genre rollout.
His management lists a series of 2026 North American dates, including performances in Salt Lake City, Charlotte and Seattle. Those are leads for separate event verification, not automatically published ticket listings on The DJ Hangout. This biography records the artistic background while the Shows database continues its own source-by-source audit.
