CHAPTER 01
The hands and instruments behind the synthesis
Entangled Mind is the electronic project of Marissa Barbato, a Boston-based producer and lifelong musician whose catalog is built around a creative overlap between acoustic performance and digital composition. Hand-played guitar, percussion and other recorded sounds appear alongside detailed synthesis rather than serving merely as ornamental samples. The result is electronic music in which a sound can feel both carefully designed and unmistakably human.
The instruments give their pieces distinctive motion. A small shift in a hand-drum rhythm can lead toward heavier glitch-hop textures; an acoustic phrase can become a suspended moment before an intricate bass passage. That approach is compelling for DJs because it builds tension without relying solely on sheer volume. Arrangements develop like stories instead of proceeding from one predictable drop to another.
CHAPTER 02
From Lucid Living to Illuminate
Entangled Mind released the album Lucid Living in 2024, then brought the Illuminate EP to Gravitas Recordings on January 23, 2026. The EP uses six tracks to explore psychedelic downtempo and glitch-hop structures, including Grounded, Solar Flare and Bonsai with oud player The Spy From Cairo. Its credits also identify Amalgamy on the collaborative recording Zemya.
The January release credits detail the craft behind the sound: songwriting, production and mixing by Barbato, plus additional percussion and guest instrumental performances. These credits matter because they distinguish real contributions from vague descriptions of organic music. The records themselves provide a direct line to the musicians who made them and to the collaborators joining this expanding scene.
CHAPTER 03
Fourteen new ways to hear a musical world
On September 10, 2026, Illuminate: Remixed expanded the EP into a fourteen-track remix album. Participating producers include Mindex, Smigonaut, Dillard, Desert Dwellers, 5AM, Herbalistek and other artists from experimental electronic music. Each new version reveals something different in the original recordings: a rhythm can take a different shape, a melodic theme can become more spacious, and the same compositional idea can work at a different energy level.
Barbato has described the remixed album as a chance to invite favorite musicians and newer discoveries into a shared project. That spirit of collaboration is one of the reasons Entangled Mind belongs in a worldwide DJ directory. The profile connects albums, musicians and genres while leaving future show dates to the verified event database rather than recycling an unconfirmed tour flyer.
