CHAPTER 01

A scene still finding its name

Doc Scott emerged while Britain’s rave scene was developing the faster breakbeats and deeper bass lines that would become jungle and drum & bass. His early recordings, including releases using the Nasty Habits identity, helped mark a shift from rave music toward a darker and more spacious sound. His career is closely associated with the formative period of Metalheadz, the record label linked with Goldie and other pioneering producers.

That history matters because drum & bass is more than a tempo or a playlist tag. It was shaped by record shops, promoters, independent studios, pirate radio and clubs that created their own language. Scott’s work belongs to that chain of recording and selection, and contemporary musicians still draw on the early experiments.

CHAPTER 02

The records are not the only evidence

Doc Scott’s official Mixcloud channel carries his Future Beats radio series. Its episode archive establishes continuing recorded DJ activity, but not a future concert date: a mix can be made at home, in a studio, or for radio. Treating those uploads as proof of specific tour stops would produce false event records.

For an artist directory meant to serve DJs and talent buyers, the better approach is to keep the two strands separate. The mixes demonstrate his place in present-day drum & bass; an actual venue’s dated announcement confirms whether he is playing. One piece of evidence does not automatically establish the other.

CHAPTER 03

Metalheadz Blue Note Sessions reaches Leeds

On Sunday, November 29, 2026, The Wardrobe in Leeds lists Metalheadz Blue Note Sessions with Grooverider, Doc Scott, J Majik and Diverge. The venue’s own page states the event name, all four performers, the exact date, and the ticket provider. This is more dependable than reposted event graphics or a generic agency tour page, which may remain online after details change.

The format unites established names from different parts of the drum & bass tradition. Grooverider has long been linked with the formative dance-floor years of jungle, and J Majik’s studio and DJ work followed that same expanding movement. The remaining advertised performer, Diverge, is billed under that name. Individual stage times have not been released by the primary venue.

CHAPTER 04

The important details are specific

The Wardrobe is at 6 St Peter’s Square, Leeds LS9 8AH. Its listing gives doors at 3 p.m. and a curfew at 9 p.m., with admission for ages 14 and up. The venue connects directly to a date-specific See Tickets page; price and remaining tickets are subject to the vendor’s live information.

This artist story, the event and the venue form a navigable set within The DJ Hangout. Fans can hear about a musician through past recordings, understand the sound, and then find the announced performance without confusing the venue’s address with another similarly named club. Other Doc Scott dates will appear only when their organizers have been verified in the same way.
