THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

DJ Holographic

The name DJ Holographic sounds futuristic. Her musical foundation is proudly Detroit. Raised in the city, she learned in its warehouse and after-hours scene, with support and mentorship from techno veterans including Carl Craig and Underground Resistance's Mike Banks. Her sets don't treat Motown, disco, house and techno as separate museums: she connects them into one moving dance floor. That approach carried her from Movement Detroit to rooms such as Panorama Bar and fabric. In 2020, she launched her Hitchhiker label with the Parallel Shifting EP; she also mixed Detroit Love Vol. 5 for Carl Craig's Planet E. The career is international, but the city isn't incidental. It's the musical vocabulary, and she keeps speaking it even when the booking is thousands of miles away.
