THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

Charlotte de Witte

Charlotte de Witte helped put a distinctly uncompromising version of techno in front of huge international audiences. The Belgian DJ built her following through tough, driving sets and extended it into something more durable: KNTXT, a platform for music, events and radio programming. That's the business story behind the booth. A successful DJ can sell tickets; building a label and event identity means shaping what gets heard next. Her catalog includes releases such as the Pressure EP and the Vision EP, while her touring has taken the Ghent-born artist far beyond Belgium. The sound is forceful, but the longer-term project is just as important.
