THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

Cashu

If you want to understand São Paulo's electronic underground, follow the people who built places to dance rather than waiting for a club owner to hand them one. Cashu, also known as Carolina Schutzer, co-founded Mamba Negra with Carneosso in 2013. The collective turned unexpected urban spaces into independent parties and creative meeting points, putting artistic experimentation and inclusion at the center of the experience. Cashu's DJ career grew alongside the community she helped organize. The result is more than one promoter's résumé. It's a case study in how a local dance scene can create its own infrastructure, visual identity and audience.
