THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

byCHIN

Christopher Chin didn’t spend a decade chasing a DJ booth. The Tampa native began learning to DJ on Father’s Day 2024 and played his first public set in January 2026. Performing as byCHIN, he has built a house sound around spring-loaded basslines, warm instruments and vocals with personality. The momentum has come through actual rooms: recurring sets at St. Pete Athletic, The Estate, Red Thread and other Tampa Bay venues. Rather than treating each appearance as another playlist, he describes his sets as a conversation with the audience. It is a young career, but one already grounded in the discipline of showing up, reading a room and earning another invitation.
