CHAPTER 01
From Australia to an international touring circuit
Blanke is the electronic-music project of JP Orchison, a producer born in Australia who is now based in Denver. His music has attracted audiences through a mixture of heavy electronic sound design and melodic writing. It moves across genres, but the emotional character of the material keeps the performances connected.
The touring history is extensive: festival appearances, long supporting runs and large American venues helped establish the project well beyond its early releases. Labels including Deadbeats, Monstercat and Ophelia have issued Blanke music. Each label reaches a somewhat different audience, allowing the producer to move between high-impact bass releases and brighter, more expansive melodies.
CHAPTER 02
Why ÆON:MODE is not just another remix
Orchison also performs as ÆON:MODE, a drum-and-bass-focused identity. The distinction matters. Rather than forcing every rhythm into the same headline show, the alter ego makes it possible to present a more specialized palette, with faster breakbeats and different energy throughout the set.
In 2023 and 2024, some headline productions paired a Blanke set with an ÆON:MODE performance in the same night. A collaboration with Metrik, Awake, also provides a recorded connection to that drum-and-bass work. The format demonstrates a useful principle for DJs: audiences can follow distinct facets of one musician’s taste when the differences are explained through the performances themselves.
CHAPTER 03
Records, partnerships and current relevance
The Change & Decay series and Land of the Wayfarer EP are useful early listening markers, while collaborations with REZZ, Illenium and Seven Lions give newcomers other entry points. A 2026 interview with EDM Identity focuses on Blanke’s continuing album work and the importance of community to his career.
The DJ Hangout is following a December 2026 Utah event pairing Virtual Riot and Blanke. That booking remains research-stage until the individual event record is published; it is not presented here as an established in-house ticket link. The profile instead connects the artist’s different creative identities, recorded output and regional touring context.
