THE DJ HANGOUT / ARTIST PROFILE

Bedouin

Bedouin's music often sounds like a conversation between different cities. The American-based duo of Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe draw on Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing and years on the international club circuit to make atmospheric, percussive house. Their releases have appeared on respected underground labels including Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical. Rather than treating those influences as decorations, the pair build them into the arrangement and the mood of the night. Their story illustrates what happens when a DJ project has a point of view broader than a single festival season.
