CHAPTER 01
From studio experiments to a group identity
Another Taste began in Rotterdam among musicians who were interested in reviving the warmth and rhythmic detail of late-1970s and early-1980s boogie, obscure disco and independent funk recordings. Its founding musicians are Bobby van Putten, Bob Roche, Barend Lippens and Teun van Zoggel. Their work grew through sessions and aliases rather than a conventional pop-group launch.
The project’s label history is part of its identity. Recordings issued around the Space Grapes orbit also appeared as Mad Honey, GALXTC and Jambonne. The independent label emphasizes physical musicianship and contemporary recording craft, an approach that can sound as comfortable in a specialist record shop as it does at an electronic club night.
CHAPTER 02
A full band in an electronic-music conversation
The live format matters. Another Taste is not a pair of DJs playing prerecorded backing tracks. The core band incorporates bass, keyboards, guitar and drums. On stage it expands to include vocalist Sarina Voorn, percussionist Diogo Carvalho and guitarist Florian Verhagen. Electronic textures and synthetic keyboards sit within an ensemble performance built around a danceable beat.
That places the act on the border between live funk, boogie and electronic disco. The DJ Hangout includes it for its synth-driven dance-floor music and bookings alongside house DJs, while keeping the distinction between live band performance and DJ set clear. A listener choosing a night out should be able to understand what kind of show they are buying a ticket to.
CHAPTER 03
Two albums and a productive 2026
The band’s self-titled album was released in March 2024. The official Bandcamp credits document the group, the production relationships and the writing. In February 2026, the band issued Into The Night with a separate electronic version, dub and acapella. Its credits again identify the ensemble and its recording personnel, giving listeners a direct way to trace the musical work.
The following record, Another Taste II, arrived in 2026 through Space Grapes. Record-store and label listings describe a fuller seven-person lineup and new arrangements. These are documented releases, not invented tour milestones. A recording’s distribution date and a concert’s advertised date are kept as different facts.
CHAPTER 04
The November Paris booking
La Bellevilloise has announced Another Taste for Free Your Funk x Club Coco on Saturday 14 November 2026. Its own program describes the full live band at 10:30 p.m. and DJ Spinna taking over much later. Coco Maria and Emile Omar also appear on the bill, with activity in a second room. The organizers’ ticket page confirms the address at 19–21 Rue Boyer in Paris.
The venue is the bridge between this artist story and the actual night. A visitor who discovers the band’s recent record can reach the Show page, check the lineup, and then read about La Bellevilloise on an in-house venue page. That is the complete connection: artist, event and venue, each verified separately.
