CHAPTER 01
The artist and musical direction
An-Ten-Nae has been an influential West Coast electronic DJ and producer, with a deep connection to the San Francisco scene. Gravitas describes his more than decade-long tenure as music director at the 1015 Folsom club and his subsequent creative role at Portland’s North Warehouse. These are important parts of his career because DJ culture is sustained by recurring club nights and music direction as well as by records.
CHAPTER 02
Key releases and connections
His Acid Crunk compilations featured artists associated with GRiZ, Opiuo and The Glitch Mob, bringing together adventurous low-end sounds before many of today’s genre names were standardized. A producer and curator in that period could help introduce emerging sounds to new audiences through full sets and compilations rather than only through streaming playlists.
CHAPTER 03
Listening and live context
On stage he performs using a customized setup with live remixing capabilities. That performance style allows him to change recorded material and move between influences in real time, a meaningful distinction from playing prearranged recordings unchanged. The artist biography provides historical context; specific future booking links still require separate verification.
